Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking broad role-playing systems may bounce off the focused action-shooter structure.
- Those wanting a slower, puzzle-led or climbing-focused experience may hit a wall with its combat-centered format.
- Players uninterested in third-person shooting may not find its viewpoint and combat suitable.
Our take on Dark Sector
The bounce point arrives when combat and Hayden's changing abilities become the central focus. Players looking for broad role-playing systems or a slower exploratory pace may lose interest at that point.
What is Dark Sector?
Dark Sector is a third-person action shooter set in Lasria, an Eastern European city hiding a deadly Cold War secret.
Players control Hayden Tenno, a covert operative whose mission changes after an enemy attack infects him with the Technocyte Virus. The infection alters his body and grants unusual abilities, including a bladed glaive that can grow from his arm and be thrown at enemies. Hayden's powers develop during the game as he confronts the virus and its effect on his mind. The game uses an over-the-shoulder viewpoint and no HUD during its action. It also includes a competitive multiplayer component in which players can use skills learned in the single-player game.
How Dark Sector plays
- 01Third-Person Shooting
- The action is presented from an over-the-shoulder viewpoint during the campaign.
- 02Evolving Abilities
- Hayden's infection grants powers that develop and grow stronger during the game.
- 03Arm-Born Glaive
- A bladed weapon can emerge from Hayden's arm and be thrown at targets.
- 04Competitive Multiplayer
- A multiplayer mode lets players apply skills from the single-player game in competitive play.
Dark Sector compared to similar games
Dark Sector combines a third-person action-shooter campaign with an evolving protagonist and competitive multiplayer. Hentai Vs Furries also uses a third-person shooting format, but its description focuses on quests, skin unlocks, multiple camera angles, emotes, and separate game modes.
