Play it if you…
Good fit- RPG strategy players who want forest construction combined with character progression

- Players who enjoy high-stakes survival systems with permanent character consequences
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a forgiving progression system may find level loss and permanent character death too punishing

- Players looking for a purely single-player experience may not fit the PvP and MMO elements
Our take on Dark Forester
The store emphasis on forest building and a large creature roster leaves the harsh failure loop easy to understate: falling below 30 trees ends the game, while death or forest loss can remove levels or permanently kill the character.
What is Dark Forester?
Build, decorate, and defend a forest while managing trees, mushrooms, buildings, traps, guardians, heroes, and livestock.
The three-dimensional world includes changing weather and time of day that affect spells, runes, traps, creatures, and heroes. Raids bring more than 100 monster types, while objects, creatures, and characters can gain levels and improvements through combat. PvP attacks give 200 seconds to destroy an opponent's buildings and use up to 15 abilities. The game includes eight heroes, three higher creatures, six inventory item categories available during a session, and more than 100 item drops. Losing the forest, allowing its trees to decay, or dying can reduce levels or cause permanent character death.
