Our take on CybArena
The build system adds variety through weapon-specific cards, rerolls, and stacked bonuses, but the format keeps play centered on repeated arena defense. The short breaks and timed waves leave little room for activities outside combat, purchases, and loadout decisions.
What is CybArena?
CybArena is a top-down wave shooter for 1–4 players, with solo play and online co-op.
Runs use ninety-second waves against nine enemy types, including drones, minelayers, bombers, and shielded elites. Bosses arrive every third wave, while wave 36 ends with a guardian encounter before Endless mode begins. Players choose from four mercenary roles, use ten guns, and build around perk cards drawn from a pool of seventy. Kills provide tokens for three-card choices, and vending machines offer equipment between fights. Weapons and character abilities affect team play, including revives, donated lives, party passives, and shared power-up drops. Weapon Tokens unlock guns permanently across runs, while guns can also be changed during a run.
How CybArena plays

- Each standard wave lasts ninety seconds, with fifteen seconds between waves for purchases and preparation.

- Assault, Skirmisher, Control, and Support characters provide different damage, mobility, crowd-control, or ammunition effects.

- Kills grant tokens that produce three-card choices from a seventy-card pool spanning four rarities.
- 04Permanent weapon unlocks
- Cleared waves and gained levels award Weapon Tokens that carry across runs.
- 05Online co-op support
- Teams can revive downed players, donate spare lives, and share character-based party effects.
- 06Endless mode
- Defeating the wave 36 guardian starts a mode that continues beyond that encounter.
CybArena compared to similar games
CybArena focuses on top-down arena defense with ninety-second waves, ten guns, seventy perk cards, and a wave 36 guardian followed by Endless mode. Abyssus instead presents multiplayer shooting through hand-crafted levels in a roguelite adventure, with weapons refitted using ancient technologies. The two share co-op shooting and roguelite progression, but differ in arena-wave structure versus level-based progression.
