Our take on Cursed Lands
The store presentation gives different romance counts: its opening claim says five options for each protagonist gender, while the later breakdown lists four bisexual and two same-sex options. That makes the scope of the romance system unclear even though several routes are named.
What is Cursed Lands?
Cursed Lands combines role-playing, relationship management, and a castle investigation.
As an Imperial Envoy serving the Grimoire Council, the player forms a strike team from several peoples, including dwarves, elves, amazons, desert nomads, and river nagas. Allies can be recruited in different orders while the party investigates the spreading undead blight around Castle N'Mar. Battles include social approaches: bluffing, intimidation, coercion, reasoning, and negotiated ceasefires can influence encounters alongside direct violence. The protagonist can be played as male or female with a customizable avatar. Romance routes include bisexual and same-sex options, with the possibility of multiple partners and additional scenes. A visual-novel mode presents the story without requiring battle sequences.
How Cursed Lands plays
- 01Social battle choices
- Enemy encounters can be resolved through persuasion tactics, negotiated truces, or exploiting an opponent's vulnerability instead of relying only on attacks.
- 02Flexible team recruitment
- Party members from several fantasy cultures can join the investigation, and recruitment order is not fixed.
- 03Customizable protagonist
- The central character has two gender choices and can be visually customized.
- 04Romance route variety
- The game includes four bisexual and two same-sex romance options, with multiple-partner relationships and extra character scenes.
- 05Story-only mode
- A separate presentation removes the need to play through battles while retaining the narrative.
