Our take on Cubetractor
The cube-pulling mechanic concentrates the game around spatial timing and positioning, but that focus leaves less room for broader progression systems such as character development, loot, or party management.
What is Cubetractor?
Cubetractor combines top-down action, strategy, and puzzles around a cube-pulling mechanic.
Playing as Endroi, a quadrubot, players attract cubes, use them to construct turrets, and position defenses while fighting enemy installations. Its structure draws on reversed tower-defense ideas and bullet-dodging, with opposing structures following the same basic rules as the player's. The game includes more than 40 maps built around timing, spatial positioning, multitasking, and tactical decisions. Main levels support speedrun-focused play: collecting every battery, reaching the goal within strict time limits, and finishing without damage earns the highest accolades. Additional options are available for players who do not want those demands.
How Cubetractor plays
- 01Cube-Based Construction
- Attracting cubes provides the central action for creating turrets and attacking enemy installations.
- 02Symmetrical Structures
- Enemy and player installations use the same structural rules, making timing and positioning central to combat.
- 0340+ Maps
- The campaign contains over 40 maps built around the interaction of pulling, crushing, and building.
- 04Speedrun Objectives
- Optional challenges require collecting all batteries, reaching the finish within tight time limits, and avoiding damage.
Cubetractor compared to similar games
Cubetractor uses cube attraction and turret construction in a top-down action-strategy format across 40+ maps. Anomaly: Warzone Earth also uses a reversed tower-defense structure, but places the action in a near-future alien invasion and centers its campaign on saving Earth’s major cities.
