Our take on CrossWorlds: Escape
The open-world survival design trades immediacy for preparation: reaching goals requires gathering supplies, maintaining shelter, adapting to seasons, and investing heavily in magic before major encounters.
What is CrossWorlds: Escape?
CrossWorlds: Escape is a survival game set in a 64 km² open world affected by seasons, weather, biomes, and natural phenomena.
The player starts from scratch, gathering food, tools, clothing, and shelter while preparing for summer and winter. Construction and crafting provide new clothing, armor, and weapons, with materials found across remote areas and caves. Enemies may be stronger, summon allies, or attack temporary shelters. Deadly creatures can be found or summoned and defeated as part of the search for a way out. Magic can alter natural laws, but requires lengthy preparation and a very large cost. Rain, fog, snow, heat, and cold affect survival and exploration.

CrossWorlds: Escape compared to similar games
Mr. Prepper also combines survival and crafting, but focuses on preparing an underground shelter for a possible nuclear war and dealing with an authoritarian government. CrossWorlds: Escape instead uses a 64 km² open world with seasonal weather, biomes, hostile creatures, and a search for a way out. Back to the Dawn centers on investigating and escaping a maximum-security prison, rather than open-world survival and shelter construction.
