Our take on Crimson Dawn
Automatic attacks reduce the need for aiming and attack timing, but they also leave less room for direct combat control. The game places its decision-making in character development, weapon upgrades, build choices, and the risks attached to optional quests.
What is Crimson Dawn?
Crimson Dawn is a roguelite horde-survival game with RPG progression.
Players select from several characters and fight through five stages while weapons and spells attack automatically. Movement and enemy avoidance form the central combat activity. During runs, characters gain levels, materials, and coins, which can unlock abilities, improve equipment, and open additional characters. Each weapon has its own mechanics and upgrade tree, allowing different build choices in the Hub. Quests offer optional risks and rewards: taking on more can bring stronger monsters or bosses alongside better loot. Between battles, the Hub includes an Inn, Blacksmith, and Market for resting, upgrading gear, and exchanging resources.
How Crimson Dawn plays
- 01Automatic Combat
- Weapons and spells attack on their own, leaving movement and enemy avoidance as the main combat actions.
- 02Five-Stage Runs

- Every weapon has a separate progression path and a distinct gameplay mechanic.
- 04Optional Quests
- Additional quests increase the possibility of stronger monsters or bosses while offering improved loot.
- 05Hub Activities
- The Hub provides an Inn, Blacksmith, and Market for resting, weapon upgrades, and resource exchanges.
