Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long-form RPG may reach the end of the 10–20-hour campaign quickly.
- Players who dislike repeated exploration, gradual mapping, or retro-level difficulty may hit a wall in the dungeon.
- Players looking for real-time combat will not find it in the turn-based battle system.
- Players wanting demo progress to carry into the full game will lose that save data.
Our take on Crescent Tower
The bounce point comes when the tower’s repeated exploration and mapping become central: players who want a continuously unfolding adventure may find the trap-filled, 10-level dungeon too repetitive or methodical.
What is Crescent Tower?
Crescent Tower is an 8-bit-style dungeon-crawling RPG set in a tower that appears once every 50 years.
Players create an adventurer using one of three races and nine classes, then fight in simple turn-based battles shown on a side-view screen. Characters can change jobs repeatedly while carrying learned skills into new roles. The dungeon contains 10 levels viewed from a 2D top-down perspective. Torches expand the visible search area, while traps and other mysteries require gradual exploration and map-making.
The game follows adventurers seeking the tower’s summit and the rumored wish-granting jewel or immortality potion. An average playthrough lasts 10–20 hours. A demo covers the first three levels, or about three hours, but its save data cannot transfer to the full version.
