- Players wanting a large open world may find the five-island structure too contained
- Players seeking exclusively combat-focused gameplay may not want puzzles, exploration, and alternate level routes
Our take on Corsair`s Madness
The varied structure comes with a trade-off: movement abilities, puzzles, sea battles, equipment purchases, and multiple routes divide attention across several systems rather than concentrating solely on combat.
What is Corsair`s Madness?
Captain Sam searches five islands and mystical temples for a crew scattered by a storm.
The platforming adventure combines fast-paced combat with exploration, hidden routes, treasure chests, puzzles, and boss encounters. A saber, special abilities, ancient artifacts, equipment upgrades, and new items support progression through locations with different mechanics. Sea battles are also part of the journey, and levels can offer multiple completion routes. Sam faces sand monsters, zombies, birds, armored creatures, and temple stalkers while investigating the secrets of the archipelago. The game uses pixel art inspired by NES-era platformers and includes movement abilities for traversing levels.
