Our take on Constructor
Its defining structure is a property rivalry in which expansion includes taking over, damaging, or weaponizing competitors' buildings rather than only developing an independent town.
What is Constructor?
Constructor is a property-management strategy game about expanding from a small landlord into a property tycoon.
Build houses and factories, collect rent, manage tenants, and produce resources through a growing workforce. Rival towns can be attacked by taking over properties, sending criminals, or allowing buildings to deteriorate until they become dangerous. The Council periodically assigns tasks and can remove investments or close the business if ignored. Tenants may have children who join the workforce, while law enforcement protects holdings. The game includes six free-play scenarios, six story missions, five locations, ten tenant types, six Super Tenants, seven undesirables, and online map-sharing battles for up to four players.
How Constructor plays
- 01Property competition
- Rival buildings can be seized, sold, occupied, sabotaged, or attacked through hired criminals.
- 02Council demands
- Periodic tasks tied to the player's and rival's progress affect property ownership and business closure.
- 03Tenant workforce
- Residents can have children who later join the workforce supporting factory production.
- 04Scenario variety
- Six free-play scenarios range from financial conquest to a utopian-state objective.
- 05Story missions
- A six-part campaign follows Nigel Plasterboard through multi-stage missions.
- 06Online map battles
- Players can create and share city maps for multiplayer contests with up to three other participants.
- 07Tenant management
- Ten tenant types have distinct demands, alongside six Super Tenants with specialized functions.
