What is ComPressure?
Build computation devices powered by high-pressure steam, beginning with pipes and valves and progressing toward adders, tabulators, and complete computers.
Pressure readings range from 100 at a steam inlet to 0 at an uncapped pipe end. A valve opens when pressure on its plus side exceeds pressure on its minus side, allowing steam to pass. Designs are examined through repeated tests, with scores based on how closely outputs match targets. Results within 5% of a target can pass and unlock another element for later designs.
Completed designs can become components in future machines. Earlier constructions may need tuning and optimization because weaknesses in previous stages affect later components. Companion characters guide the discovery process, and a Discord-based academy of steam engineers is available for assistance and idea sharing.
