We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Friends who want competitive online duels rather than a solo-focused game

- Players who want matches built around up to four combatants and changing health resources
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a slow, deliberate combat system may struggle with the fast match pace
- Those who prefer fixed health bars may dislike coffee spilling into the arena for opponents to collect
- Solo players seeking the main focus of a long single-player campaign may find the multiplayer battles central
Our take on Coffence
The bounce point arrives when a hit turns health into a contested pickup. Players must react to spilled coffee, decide whether to reclaim it or spend it on a Coffee Break, and handle attacks aimed with the right joystick.
What is Coffence?
Coffence combines close-range fighting with twin-stick shooting in matches for up to four players.
Coffee functions as each fighter’s health: taking a hit sprays coffee into the arena, where any combatant can collect it. A player can recover from near defeat with a quick scoop or spend some coffee on a strong Coffee Break attack. Fighters choose among cups with different strengths and weaknesses, including a fast espresso cup and a large coffee pot. Online duels support friend challenges. A story mode expands the cup collection and reveals a hidden character, while battles take place across locations such as office buildings and pirate ships.
How Coffence plays
- 01Coffee Health System
- Damage scatters coffee for other fighters to collect, creating opportunities to recover or deny recovery.
- 02Coffee Break Attack
- Players can spend part of their coffee reserve to activate a special move.
- 03Cup-Based Fighters
- Selectable cups differ in strengths and weaknesses, from an espresso cup to a large coffee pot.
- 04Story Mode Unlocks
- The story campaign adds cups to the collection and opens access to a hidden character.
- 05Four-Player Battles
- Matches support as many as four participants across settings including offices and pirate ships.
