Clarent Saga: Chronicles combines an 80,000-word novel with turn-based RPG battles and has no exploration.
The story follows mercenary Horatio and his new allies as they seek the Clarent Sword after the Cult of Brax summons a demon lord. The narrative spans 21 chapters and includes 20 playable characters and 20 classes. Battles use class abilities, skills, equipment, and enemy weaknesses, which can be exploited to stun opponents. Skills can be boosted to produce stronger effects or attacks. The game includes more than 180 skills, 120 items, 240 weapons, 360 armors, 80 rings, 160 enemies, and 70 states. Three difficulty settings, additional options, and a detailed tutorial are included. Pixel graphics and music draw inspiration from 16-bit JRPG classics.
