Play it if you…
Good fit- Hack-and-slash RPG players who want a campaign with a final boss encounter
- Players who enjoy choosing among characters with different abilities

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a short, single-stage action game may find the nine-quest campaign too involved

- Players who want a modern soundtrack setup may find the original CD-based music instructions cumbersome
Our take on Clans
Its unusual music setup reflects the CD-era format: the launch prompt can be cancelled, while hearing the original soundtrack requires burning the included audio files to a CD.
What is Clans?
Clans is a hack-and-slash action RPG about confronting the Demon and searching for the Crown of Peace.
The campaign spans nine quests across seven levels and five sublevels, from a lava-filled cavern and fortress dungeons to the courtyard and a dragon’s lair. Players choose one of four characters, each with distinct skills and abilities, and fight with swords, axes, magic, and explosive weapons. The journey also includes puzzles, spells, interactions with characters, and a final encounter with the Demon. At launch, the game offers a choice to cancel its CD music prompt. The original soundtrack files are included in the game directory; playing them as described requires burning an audio CD and inserting it into a CD drive.
