ActionIs CHOP worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Groups of friends looking for short local multiplayer matches rather than solo-focused play
- Competitive party-game players who enjoy one-hit eliminations and quick respawns
- Players who like gory, comic-book-style visuals and are comfortable with dismemberment
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking long matches with gradual character progression may find the instant-kill and rapid-respawn loop too brief
- Those who prefer slower, exploratory pacing may find its emphasis on fast combat and escaping under pressure repetitive
- Players who need officially supported online multiplayer, rather than a workaround using Parsec
Our take on CHOP
One hit kills, but players return almost immediately, making rapid elimination and re-entry the defining rhythm of each match.
What is CHOP?
CHOP is a 2D local multiplayer party game focused on fast, competitive fights for 1 to 4 players.
A single hit kills, followed by an almost immediate respawn. Players can compete one-on-one, play in teams of two, or face off in a one-versus-three match. Three game modes each support tournament play, and Rush Out asks players to kill an opponent to open a portal and escape before it closes; dying shuts the portal. Four characters have special abilities, while arenas, random bonuses, and game customization options vary the matches. The game uses gory visuals with a comic-book style. Online multiplayer is not officially supported, though the vendor describes using Parsec to play local multiplayer online.
How CHOP plays
- 01Rush Out mode
- Players must eliminate an opponent to open an escape portal, then reach it before it shuts; dying closes it.
- 02Tournament play
- Each of the three game modes can be played as a tournament.
- 03Local multiplayer
- Matches support up to four players, including one-on-one, two-versus-two, and one-versus-three setups.
