Our take on Ceress and Orea
The single-session format keeps the story focused, but leaves little room for extended exploration or replay through alternate outcomes. Its linear structure also means the journey ends with one conclusion.
What is Ceress and Orea?
After Ceress is condemned to death for loving Orea, she wakes in a cave system that belongs to an old deity.
To return to the living world and reunite with Orea, she must travel through the death realm and solve its puzzles. Players can find several of Ceress’s memories along the way. The game combines adventure, walking-sim exploration, and puzzle solving in a simple, linear story with one ending. It has no battles and takes about 60 minutes to complete in one session. Its atmosphere is generally soothing, and its original soundtrack was composed by Ryan Fogleman.
