Our take on Cecconoid
Rather than using a continuous scrolling battlefield, Cecconoid breaks its shooter action into flick-screen rooms. Its retro structure is paired with persistent flashing across the game, while the separate Eugatron mode adds another arcade-style shooting format.
What is Cecconoid?
Cecconoid is an 8-bit-inspired twin-stick shooter set in an alternate dimension with chunky pixel visuals and constantly flashing images.
The story places the crew of the Equinox under attack by Stormlord and robotic Exolons. Players pilot the Samurai-1 fighter, search for Captain Solomon’s Key, clear rooms of enemies, and attempt to save the ship. The main game contains more than 50 rooms and six power-ups, along with a high-score table. A separate arcade game, Eugatron, adds 50 levels of arena-based twin-stick shooting modeled on Robotron-style play. The game includes an epilepsy warning because flashing occurs throughout and cannot be changed.
