Is Cavalry Girls worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy top-down shooters with equipment customization
- Strategy fans who want resource decisions during roguelike battles
- Players interested in recruitable characters and branching story choices
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely linear shooter may hit a wall when equipment, teammates, intelligence, and limited supplies must be managed between fights.
- Players who prefer fixed builds may bounce off the large selection of weapons, attributes, accessories, and mecha configurations.
- Players looking for turn-based combat may not fit the shooting-focused battle structure.
Our take on Cavalry Girls
The bounce point arrives during preparation rather than the opening firefight: equipment, teammates, modules, enemy traits, and limited supplies all require attention. Players seeking a direct shooter may stall when survival depends on managing several connected systems before and during combat.
What is Cavalry Girls?
Lead mecha-equipped girls through top-down shooting battles against enemy forces.
Combat uses a roguelike structure with dozens of enemy soldiers, while limited supplies make equipment selection and deployment important. Choose teammates, assemble mecha modules, gather intelligence, and target enemy characteristics. The game includes 135 weapon types, 85 weapon attributes, and 184 weapon and armor accessories. Six damage types affect combat: burning, cold, paralysis, damp, high temperature, and grease. Five characters can be recruited, with dormitory decoration and gift-giving available between battles. Ideology choices involving Rebellion, Selflessness, Radicalism, and Rationality can influence the story and ending. Equipment can be synthesized, and enemy spoils can be dismantled for use.
