Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed campaign may bounce off the run-based structure and randomly generated stages.
- Players who prefer simple card systems may hit a wall when managing card upgrades, relics, consumables, and enemies with unique abilities.
- Players looking for real-time combat may not fit the turn-based battle format.
- Players wanting a single difficulty setting may dislike the selectable challenge modifiers and 10 Overtime tiers.
Our take on Card Toons
The bounce point arrives when several systems must be managed together: card upgrades, relics, consumable items, random events, and enemies with distinct abilities. Players seeking a straightforward card battler may hit that decision load during the first run.
What is Card Toons?
Card Toons is a turn-based roguelike deckbuilder in which each run uses a randomly generated map.
Players choose a character, collect cards and other loot, and use creatures, spells, consumable items, and relics against enemies with different abilities. Cards can be added to the deck and upgraded in several ways, including by giving them extra effects. Runs contain multiple stages, random events, and a powerful boss at the end of each stage sequence. Custom mode allows players to select modifiers that change the gameplay or increase the challenge. Overtime mode offers 10 tiers of increasingly harder runs. Deck choices and planned moves shape battles against the toons in the game show.
