What is Card Detective?
Play as newspaper reporter Hazel Gong after an accidental collapse reveals a mysterious corpse at an abandoned building site.
Investigate by questioning witnesses whose accounts differ, considering their relationships, and responding to emergencies. Hazel turns to a bar owner to learn about criminal investigation and psychology before confronting the witnesses. Gameplay combines analysis of testimony with flexible deck building and unconventional card-game strategies, including an OTK, to break through psychological defenses. A realistic comic style uses changes in shadows, lines, and tones to establish atmosphere and suggest the direction of the plot. Character animation uses micro-expressions and movement during interrogations as part of the gameplay.
