Rather than centering an RTS on moving armies across a battlefield, Byte Lynx makes buildings and networks the combatants. Capturing enemy structures is also part of the attack, shifting the contest from unit engagements toward infrastructure and base design.
What is Byte Lynx?
Byte Lynx is a real-time strategy game built around combat between networks rather than unit control.
Players construct defenses and war platforms, expand their bases toward local resources, and attack enemy structures. Instead of destroying an opposing base outright, players can find gaps in its defenses and take its buildings. The campaign follows battles across a mechanical planet, with new constructions to unlock and existing ones to upgrade as dangers and enemies with unusual powers appear. An AI character named Byte joins the fight. The game includes a 20-mission campaign with 3 difficulty levels, plus a map editor, 5 custom map packs, and additional maps through Steam Workshop.
