Our take on Bump in the Night
The defining constraint is remote investigation: the player remains in one command room while Bob and Susan enter the haunted site, with cameras providing the main view of events.
What is Bump in the Night?
Investigate haunted locations from a command room instead of entering the site directly.
Assign Bob and Susan equipment, tasks, and search areas, then watch cameras for paranormal activity. Photograph discoveries and record evidence in a journal while identifying the ghost through three evidence types, personality traits, and later behaviors. Each location has different map features, challenges, difficulty levels, and clues, while procedural generation changes every investigation. Ghosts can enter dangerous hunt states, and unexpected events may threaten both investigators and the player. Between missions, the office provides lore, coffee, and cats. Twitch viewers or Steam friends can issue commands to Bob and Susan, with optional controls for triggering scares and attacks.
How Bump in the Night plays

- 02Camera Monitoring

- Identification combines three evidence categories with each ghost's habits, personality, and later behavior.
- 04Procedural Investigations
- Generated mission sequences can be saved, replayed, and shared through their generation seed.
- 05Chat Controls
- Twitch viewers and Steam friends can direct the investigators, with an optional setting for triggering scares and attacks.
