Our take on Broken of Darkness
The likely bounce point is the build system: progress depends on combining lineups, runes, equipment, passive effects, and skill scrolls. Players who want to select a hero and fight without repeated loadout decisions may hit that wall before the campaign’s later battles.
What is Broken of Darkness?
Broken of Darkness is a turn-based roguelite in which 30 summoned heroes fight through the Hope Continent.
Heroes have different combat roles, and only 6 are available initially; others unlock as tasks are completed. The game includes more than 30 bosses, over 150 monster types, 17 cities, and 280 battles. Combat uses lineups, runes, equipment, passive effects, and synthetic skill scrolls. Randomly generated equipment and a system allowing up to 7 skills in one round support varied builds. Monsters use a threat system, so each action during boss encounters affects the battle. Maps, enemies, equipment, and other content include randomized elements, while defeat carries a limited penalty.
