Our take on Book of Travels
Many role-playing adventures organize play around a main plot and a fixed sequence of missions. This one replaces that structure with self-chosen goals, wandering, and events that can vary between sessions.
What is Book of Travels?
Book of Travels is a role-playing adventure in the Braided Shore, a fairytale peninsula of cities and wilderness.
There is no central objective or prescribed route; players choose their own aims and decide how to travel. Character creation includes 12 Forms, shaped around personality and self-expression instead of class and attribute choices. Random events vary from session to session, and linked encounters may uncover objects, characters, hidden lore, and gameplay elements. Characters can learn and master over 100 abilities, magical techniques, and passive feats. Experience is earned through activities including exploration, courtesy, gathering, and trade, while combat is also available. Players can learn symbols to communicate with others. Click-to-move controls guide characters through hand-painted scenes presented with three-dimensional depth.
