Our take on Twinkleby
The open-ended decorating focus trades structured challenge for experimentation. Progression supplies new islands, residents, items, and currencies, but the central activity remains arranging scenes and changing their atmosphere rather than pursuing complex strategy.
What is Twinkleby?
Twinkleby is a decoration game about arranging floating islands as dioramas for spacefaring neighbours.
Progress across a star chart to open islands, find map fragments, and uncover hidden locations. Decorations, backdrops, colours, weather, and seasons can be changed, with scenery choices also affecting each island’s soundtrack and ambience. Furnished houses attract residents with different traits, including rare neighbours who offer gifts when made happy. Items and unwanted residents can be sent over an island’s edge and returned to collections. Stellars can be spent at Molligan’s Antiques, while falling chests provide additional loot. Later progress opens parallel versions of discovered islands, and photo mode records completed scenes.
