Our take on Boo Men
The focus on light, power, and extraction creates tension during each burglary, but it also makes the game dependent on repeated house runs and resource management rather than broad exploration or a conventional campaign.
What is Boo Men?
Boo Men is a horror burglary game for solo play or online teams of up to four.
Each heist requires stealing specified items before leaving the house. Turning on lights reveals areas but drains the available power, eventually causing an outage that requires finding and restarting the breaker. Ghostly Boo Men can hide in darkness or wait for lights to be switched off.
The game includes eight maps, eight Boo Men with distinct abilities and play styles, five difficulty levels, randomized spawn points, and custom match settings. Players can spend stolen money on masks, access to higher-paying houses, and perks. A player-versus-player mode allows one player to control a Boo Man against up to five others, with proximity voice chat included.
How Boo Men plays
- 01Online Co-op
- Solo play or a burglary crew of up to four can tackle houses together, with the game adjusting to the group size.
- 02Power Management
- Using more lights drains the house supply faster and can force players to locate a breaker after an outage.
- 03Boo Man Roster
- Eight playable ghost characters provide different abilities and play styles in the player-versus-player mode.
- 04Custom Heists
- Five difficulty settings, variable spawn points, and match customization allow repeated runs with different setups.
- 05In-Game Market
- Stolen money can buy burglar masks, entry to houses with larger payouts, and heist perks.
- 06Proximity Voice Chat
- Nearby players can communicate through in-game voice chat while other sounds may also be heard.
