Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking immediate, action-focused combat may lose interest during turn-based battles and army preparation.
- Players who want to defeat bosses without side content may hit a wall because the 5 bosses require a larger army built through additional encounters.
- Players looking for a small, fixed unit roster may find more than 25 unit types and over 60 abilities too expansive.
- Players who do not want to manage editable XML items may not use that system.
Our take on Blades of the Righteous
Players who prefer a direct route through a campaign may bounce at the boss encounters. The game requires side encounters to enlarge the army before the 5 bosses become defeatable, adding a progression check beyond the main map path.
What is Blades of the Righteous?
Defend a kingdom from dark portals and the forces emerging from them.
Expand the castle, hire soldiers and heroes, and prepare units by selecting their skills and equipment. Units improve chosen skills through use. Battles are turn-based and support up to 16 units at once, with more than 25 unit types and over 60 abilities. A world map offers random encounters and events, while additional encounters can expand the army before confrontations with 5 bosses. Completing a map saves progress and provides permanent perks for the next map, including resource gains and new units. Heroes provide bonuses and can be revived after death. Items use XML and can be edited or modified.
