Blades of Gory is an 8-bit-style 2D fighting game with 8 playable warriors and 4 modes.
Arcade mode pits fighters against all 8 characters, then 4 bosses; winning two rounds in a row or scoring a perfect round earns extra credits. Versus mode supports fights against the computer or a friend. Sudden Death makes each round a one-hit fight, with victory going to the first fighter to win 5 rounds. In 3-on-3 mode, players choose 3 warriors and 3 opponents, then tag fighters in and out. Combat uses 3 attacks, 3 blocks, and 2 taunts, with timing, blocking, and range as its central mechanics. Keyboard controls are available, and an Xbox 360 gamepad is recommended.
