Our take on Black Hole Hazard
The recoil-based movement gives navigation a central puzzle role, but it also makes movement dependent on aiming and firing the gun rather than using conventional locomotion controls.
What is Black Hole Hazard?
Play as Dr.
Albert Armstrong, a researcher left floating in cosmic space after an experiment involving an artificial black hole goes wrong. Fire a jet gun toward a point to propel Albert in the opposite direction, using recoil and the physical properties of blocks to move through levels and fight enemies. Story Mode spans 7 chapters and 150 levels, with boss battles, cutscenes, and two endings. Search for 68 log file fragments that reveal story clues and 26 batteries used to upgrade the gun. Each stage also has a Time Attack challenge. Survival Mode uses random maps, items, and enemies, with a Steam leaderboard for high-score competition.
How Black Hole Hazard plays
- 01Recoil movement
- Aiming the gun at a point pushes Albert away from it, making movement part of the puzzle.
- 02Story collectibles
- Finding 68 log fragments reveals clues, while 26 batteries can be used to upgrade the gun in Story Mode.
- 03Survival challenges
- This mode uses randomized maps, items, and enemies, with scores compared on a Steam leaderboard.
- 04Time Attack stages
- Each stage includes a challenge based on completing it against the clock.
