Our take on Potentia
Instead of treating movement as a way to traverse fixed arenas, Potentia makes propulsion part of combat. Its grenade launcher can turn walls and surfaces into launch points, while also displacing opponents, so positioning becomes an active weapon choice rather than only a defensive concern.
What is Potentia?
Potentia is a multiplayer sci-fi arena shooter focused on fast combat and vertical movement.
Players can use a shoulder-mounted movement grenade launcher to push themselves from walls and surfaces, cross the map, or knock opponents away. Level layouts provide elevated routes and multiple ways to use cover and weapons. The arsenal includes an assault rifle, shotgun, SMG, plasma crossbow, DMR, plasma rifle, and railgun. Weapons vary by range, spread, recoil, damage, projectile speed, and firing behavior. The plasma rifle regenerates ammunition when not firing, while the railgun charges before releasing a high-damage shot. Matches are intended for play with friends.
How Potentia plays
- 01Vertical movement
- A shoulder-mounted launcher propels players from walls and other surfaces or pushes nearby players away.
- 02Varied weapon roles
- The arsenal covers close, medium, and long-range combat through differences in spread, recoil, damage, accuracy, and projectile speed.
- 03Regenerating plasma rifle
- Its ammunition returns while the weapon is not being fired, while its firing rate and accuracy increase during sustained fire.
- 04Charge-based railgun
- This pickup combines high damage, accuracy, and projectile speed with a charge delay and substantial recoil.
- 05Scoped firearms
- The DMR and railgun include scopes for longer-range engagements.
Potentia compared to similar games
Potentia is a multiplayer arena shooter built around weapon duels and launcher-based vertical movement. Abyssus is also a multiplayer shooter, but it uses hand-crafted levels, roguelite progression, and weapon refitting with ancient technologies. The other listed games do not share Potentia's multiplayer arena-shooter scope.
