Our take on Bildo
Bildo ties movement and progression to its color-based puzzle system. That focus narrows the experience toward staged problem-solving, leaving less room for a broader mix of platforming activities or combat-focused play.
What is Bildo?
Bildo is a 2D platform game following a boy whose homeland has been destroyed by The Darkness.
Guided by The Keeper, Bildo travels through Nibiru to find The Colors and restore the Light. Each color grants a different ability used to overcome obstacles and solve environmental puzzles. Yellow can move rocks, white can light caves, red can destroy enemies, and blue can create objects. Scenarios present increasing challenges as players combine these powers to advance and open further challenges. The visual presentation contrasts vivid colors with dark silhouettes, while layered backgrounds create depth through parallax movement. The game also includes original artwork and music created for its stages.

- Advancement requires combining color powers to overcome obstacles across scenarios with increasing challenges.
- 03Parallax Environments

- 04Original Stage Music
- Each stage has music created specifically for it.
Bildo compared to similar games
Bildo combines 2D platforming with color-powered environmental puzzles, while Jusant centers on climbing a tall tower, managing stamina, and choosing routes through a meditative action-puzzle journey. The two share puzzle-oriented exploration, but their core movement systems differ: color abilities and obstacle manipulation in Bildo versus climbing tools and stamina management in Jusant.
