Our take on Pocket Penguin DX ( ポケットペンギン): A Retro Style Adventure
Bombs govern both combat and movement, so the same tool used to attack enemies also launches Pichi through obstacles.
What is Pocket Penguin DX ( ポケットペンギン): A Retro Style Adventure?
Pocket Penguin DX is a Game Boy-style adventure about Pichi, a blue penguin who gets lost at sea after a pirate ship attack.
He travels through six worlds and 23 stages, from scorching dunes and coral reefs to the lair of pirate captain Nanuk the Polar Bear, while trying to rescue his family and return home. Bombs serve two purposes: attacking enemies and launching Pichi through the environment. Two-button controls make timing important for obstacles, puzzles, and combat. Three difficulty modes change the stages and overall experience. The game also includes 20 color modes, a Game Boy Color mode, eight screen borders, minigames, multiple languages, and a shop where coins, food, and other treasures can be traded.
