Big Journey to Home follows Jake as he travels through forests, underground areas, ice caves, deserts, and other dangerous environments.

Standing still can keep monsters from attacking, while Hardcore mode requires full attention. A separate cooperative story supports play with a friend, with chat and markers for coordination. The game includes achievements, leaderboards, a special difficulty setting, and a built-in editor for creating puzzles. Usermade levels can be downloaded through the game. Online features require a free BJtH-Online account.
