Is Becastled worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want a repeating settlement-building and siege-defense cycle
- Castle builders who enjoy placing walls, gates, and defensive weapons
- Players who want terrain and seasonal changes to affect fortress planning
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking uninterrupted combat may bounce off the daylight construction and resource-management phase.
- Players wanting a short, self-contained strategy scenario may find the repeated build, defend, expand cycle too demanding.
- Players looking for small squad tactics rather than castle-scale defenses and settlement management
Our take on Becastled
The likely bounce point is the transition between planning and pressure: each daylight phase requires resource gathering, construction, morale management, and army preparation before the next siege. Players who want to focus only on combat may hit a wall when the settlement must be maintained before the horns sound.
What is Becastled?
Becastled combines settlement building with real-time-style tower defense.
During daylight, players expand a medieval village by placing farms, markets, roads, walls, gates, and watchtowers while gathering wood, iron, and Sunstone. Taverns and decorations support subject happiness, while sawmills can affect the settlement’s conditions. At sunset, Moon Beasts attack with units including battering rams, siege towers, and dragons. Defenses include catapults, archers, ballistas, walls, and iron gates. Warriors can be trained and equipped, progressing from basic infantry to forces using ballistas and trebuchets. Hills, rivers, and forests provide defensive positions, though seasonal changes can alter their value. Expansion involves claiming land, growing the domain, and repeating the cycle of construction and siege defense.
