We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Action players who want a mech combat game with moral choices
- Players interested in unusual, deliberately demanding movement controls
- Adventure fans who want to choose between human and native factions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking conventional movement controls may find the separate leg-by-leg walking demanding
- Players looking for a non-combat-focused adventure may find the shooting, trampling, and battlefield objectives too central
- Players wanting a story that avoids conflict between colonists and natives may not fit the game's premise
Our take on BE-A Walker
The store presentation foregrounds the unusual mech and the choice between exterminating or defending the natives, but gives less attention to the demanding movement system. Walking is not ordinary character movement: each leg requires separate positioning, which shapes both traversal and combat.
What is BE-A Walker?
BE-A Walker places the player in control of a bipedal battle mech on Eldorado, an alien world targeted for human colonization and resource extraction.
The mech must protect the colony from hostile humanoid natives while navigating an atmosphere poisonous to humans. Movement requires controlling each leg separately: lift one leg, shift it left or right, place it, then repeat with the other. Legs can also crush enemies or avoid incoming grenades and missiles. Combat includes shooting and trampling, with upgrades for the mech and its weapons. The story presents a choice between defending humanity by killing the natives or siding with them against the invading colonists. The world is generated during play, and the game includes no loot boxes.
How BE-A Walker plays

- 04Generated World
- The alien environment is generated rather than presented as one fixed layout.
