Our take on Battle for Orion 2
Rather than focusing on battles alone, this strategy game combines conquest with empire development, resource extraction, and research. It also extends play beyond its 24 story missions with randomly generated maps and a tool for creating and publishing galaxies.
What is Battle for Orion 2?
After Earth is destroyed, human factions and corporations compete for control of the galaxy.
A habitable planet in the Orion sector sparks a war, and a person awakened from centuries in stasis receives a mission from a mysterious AI. The campaign spans 24 story missions. Players expand an empire by conquering star systems, building orbital modules for economic, military, and research development, and mining asteroids, debris, and moons. Fleets can include more than a dozen ship types, while collected technology strengthens ships, the economy, and defenses. Star-powered superweapons are also available. The Battle Simulator generates maps randomly, and a Map Editor lets players make galaxies and publish maps for others.
