Our take on BackSlash
The accessible casting premise sits alongside accelerating matches, destructible arenas, and style combinations. The result is not simply a low-input fighting game: its presentation also points to changing battle conditions and tactical pressure during each duel.
What is BackSlash?
BackSlash is a spell-casting brawler centered on combining two styles during arena fights.
Combat combines close-range attacks with 33 interactive spells, while 10 unlockable clans provide different specialized approaches. Spells from selected clans are available from the start and can be cast with a button press. Arenas break apart as battles continue, altering the surrounding stage. Matches also become faster over time, changing the tactical situation. Solo play includes Quest Mode, which contains more than two dozen fights and challenges, and Survival Mode, where players attempt to win successive duels. Versus Mode supports one-on-one matches with friends, and battles against the AI are also available. The setting is the world of Angwaii, where different styles can be combined.
