Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly guided, linear path may find the open-world structure less suitable.

- Players seeking multiplayer competition may prefer a game built around real-player battles.
Our take on Aztecalypse
The open-world structure gives exploration room beyond the central investigation, but sacrifices the tighter direction of a linear campaign. Progress is framed around discovering what happened at the site, so players seeking a purely combat-led experience may find the investigative premise less central to their interests.
What is Aztecalypse?
Aztecalypse is an apocalyptic first-person adventure set across a newly uncovered region containing traces of an ancient civilization.
A senior researcher at the National Institute of Mystery volunteers to examine why the archaeologists investigating the location vanished. After being left beside an empty camp, the player searches for clues about the missing mercenary. The open world includes supernatural sites and optional places to explore beyond the central investigation, combining archaeological intrigue with action.
How Aztecalypse plays

- 02Archaeological investigation
- The player investigates the disappearance of archaeologists examining remnants of an ancient culture.
- 03First-person action
- The game presents its action adventure from a first-person perspective.
Aztecalypse compared to similar games
Aztecalypse combines first-person action with open-world exploration and an archaeological investigation, while Apocryph focuses on old-school FPS combat in a dark fantasy setting with swords, magic, castles, shrines, and dungeons. Feral Fury is a twin-stick shooter with rogue-lite structure, making its action format and progression different from Aztecalypse's first-person open-world investigation.
