Our take on Axe Cop
Players who expect real-time action may bounce off at the first battle, where combat follows a turn-based system. Those who do not want to manage character stats may hit another wall at level-ups, when choices affect stats and learned moves.
What is Axe Cop?
Axe Cop is a retro, turn-based RPG following Axe Cop and his team through missions based on the Nicolle brothers’ comics.
The story begins when Axe Cop finds his axe at a fire and meets Flute Cop. The team then searches for three magic gems to power a machine that can turn bad guys into good guys. Battles use turn-based combat, and characters gain moves and stats as they level up.
Each hero also has a field ability used to interact with parts of a level: Axe Cop breaks cracked objects, Flute Cop works with magic statues, and Sockarang controls a boomerang sock. The adventure includes locations such as a dinosaur-filled volcano, a giant monster’s insides, and London, along with main missions and side content drawn from the comics.
