Leaving out base construction keeps the focus on troop selection and map objectives, but removes a layer of planning between missions. The game’s loop centers on assembling a retinue, completing a map task, and collecting its rewards.
What is Asunder?
Asunder is a paused real-time strategy game built around choosing destinations on a map and completing objectives with a troop retinue.
Troops can be hired with gold or selected from those already in the retinue; members left out of a mission become fully rested. On each map, the party completes an objective to claim rewards, gear, and gold. Troops gain experience and level up, becoming stronger and fully healed. Gear such as weapons, armor, and charms can be equipped to individual members. Map objectives include eliminating enemies, retrieving items, surviving, protecting targets, destroying objects, guiding characters, and reaching destinations. Controls use the mouse, WASD, Q, and E.
