Play it if you…
Good fit- Survival-game players who want a long-term map-clearing objective
- Groups who want cooperation alongside player conflict
- Players interested in switching between base-building survivors and a sabotaging mutant role
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking short sessions may find the gradual map-clearing and purifier-maintenance loop too prolonged.
- Players who want a purely cooperative experience may hit a wall when mutants sabotage bases and attack survivors.
- Players looking for a story-focused game without resource gathering or base construction may find those systems central to progress.
Our take on PostApo
The clearest sticking point is the long-term loop: progress depends on gathering resources, maintaining the purifier, and gradually opening the map. Players who want a self-contained session may bounce when the purifier's upkeep and expanding radiation make that ongoing cycle central.
What is PostApo?
Set in 2067, PostApo takes place on a radiation-contaminated island in Iceland.
Players can join the Aegis Initiative as survivors, gathering resources, building bases, exploring the Zone, and keeping an air purifier running. As the purifier works, radiation retreats and new areas become accessible; if it stops, contaminated territory expands again. Zombies, mutants, and anomalies threaten players and their progress. Players can cooperate or compete, with a mutant role focused on sabotaging the purifier, taking supplies, and attacking survivors. The long-term loop involves gradually clearing the map and maintaining the purifier across in-game days. Exploration also reveals information about the catastrophe that devastated the world.
How PostApo plays
- 01Changing radiation zone
- Operating the purifier clears contaminated areas, while its failure allows radiation to spread back.
- 02Survivor and mutant roles
- Survivors maintain the purifier and gather supplies, while mutants can interfere with those efforts.
- 03Anomaly encounters
- Anomalies threaten players and may contain rewards.
