Saves you a refund- Players who prefer forgiving combat may hit a wall when the small health pool makes each fight consequential.
- Players who dislike equipment upkeep may bounce off gear that deteriorates and requires resource management.
- Players looking for a game without deck construction or RPG progression will find both systems central to the experience.
Our take on Archons: Arena
The bounce point arrives in combat, where a small health pool makes each fight consequential. Players who dislike gear upkeep may hit another wall as equipment wears down and requires resource management.
What is Archons: Arena?
Archons: Arena combines deckbuilding with RPG progression in repeated arena battles.
Players construct a deck without random deck selection, then shape a character through more than 100 skills, attributes, and specializations. Character options include rogues, knights, sorcerers, and other builds. Gold can purchase equipment from a pool of over 70 items, while gear gradually deteriorates and requires resource management. Battles feature a small health pool, making each fight consequential. Thirty distinct opponents require changes in strategy. Fully voiced shopkeepers comment on choices and progress, with over 1,500 lines of dialogue. Difficulty settings offer adjustment for different levels of deckbuilding experience, and an in-game editor allows changes to be tested within the same session.
