Our take on AN IOU
The focus on reading, atmosphere, and branching story choices leaves little room for action-oriented gameplay. Its mature themes also narrow the audience, particularly for players seeking lighter visual novels or content without violence, gore, sexual material, or strong language.
What is AN IOU?
AN IOU is a visual novel set around Trevor, a new arrival in the city who wants to become a successful artist.
After meeting Mallory in a college art class, Trevor’s life changes. The story explores love, longing, and loss through the protagonist’s perspective, with choices that lead to multiple endings. Hand-painted artwork provides the visual presentation, while music from several contributing artists supplies the soundtrack. An unlockable gallery contains location photographs, fan art, selected comic-book previews, and character profiles. The game is intended for mature audiences and may include intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, or strong language.
