Our take on Alone in the crowd
Rather than centering the adventure on travel through a world, the investigation uses city databases, camera footage, and altered documents as its main tools. Its point-and-click puzzles sit alongside citizen surveillance and a humorous exchange with an anonymous messenger.
What is Alone in the crowd?
Alone in the Crowd is a humorous investigative puzzle game set in a dystopian future.
After waking in a room full of machinery with no memory of what happened, the player receives help from an anonymous messenger who asks for assistance. The investigation centers on finding specified citizens from the “Box” using surveillance technology. Play proceeds in a point-and-click format, with puzzles to solve and documents to print and alter to affect a citizen’s status. Players can question the messenger, search databases covering multiple cities for citizen information, and review footage from cameras placed around the city. Each new start generates a campaign with a different seed.
