Our take on Afterlight Catacombs
Rather than giving exploration a fixed route, the game rebuilds its catacomb maze between playthroughs. Progress depends on marking paths, preserving torchlight, and locating gates or levers while a stalker turns navigation into an ongoing escape problem.
What is Afterlight Catacombs?
Explore a first-person horror adventure set in a procedurally generated catacomb.
Each playthrough creates a different maze, with five levels to complete before confronting the stalking creature known as the snuffer. Use a torch to see, relight it at braziers when possible, and manage supplies including chalk, bandages, oil flasks, and keys. Chalk can mark routes through the maze, while the slot-based inventory limits how items are carried. Progress requires finding skull gates, opening some with keys, and activating hidden levers for others. Three lore items reveal story details and unlock Steam Achievements. The game includes simulated violence: the creature attacks at close range, and losing all health ends the current life.
