Our take on UnderBackrooms
The game focuses on compact cooperative horror runs, so its current 3-level structure limits the amount of content compared with a longer campaign. Procedural mazes add variation, but they do not expand the number of floors or replace progression through the same core escape loop.
What is UnderBackrooms?
UnderBackrooms is a cooperative horror adventure set in a parallel world of vacant rooms and long corridors.
Players investigate its floors, face five entities, solve puzzles, and search for a way out. The game contains 3 levels, each using different mechanics and becoming harder as progression continues. Solo play and groups of up to 4 players are supported, with options to host or join a session. At least one player must locate the exit before the group can advance.
A dead player returns after 60 seconds, while a full-party death restarts the game. Procedurally created mazes change between sessions while the floor themes remain consistent. A lightstick provides illumination and marks locations, while a scanner makes a sound when aimed at an entity.
