Our take on Aery - A New Frontier
The focus on calm flying and environmental discovery leaves little room for combat, tactical decision-making, or threat-driven tension. Progression also centers on collecting crystals to open the next area, rather than on a broad set of interacting systems.
What is Aery - A New Frontier?
Aery – A New Frontier is a story-driven 3D exploration game about flying as a bird-like creature through space, distant planets, and different periods of human development.
The journey follows humanity’s evolution, including its settlement of new worlds and discoveries across the galaxy. Players explore 8 large areas, each with its own visual theme, mood, and color palette. Crystals found during exploration open access to the next area, while hidden places and small discoveries are scattered throughout the environments. Flight is the central activity, with responsive controls and a focus on movement rather than combat. The game contains no enemies or other threats and presents its science-fiction setting through bright, minimalistic, and sometimes surreal artwork.
