The split between one VR tree and mobile squirrels gives each side a distinct role, but it also makes the game dependent on a group with access to both VR and compatible mobile devices.
What is Acron: Attack of the Squirrels!?
Acron: Attack of the Squirrels!
is a multiplayer party game split between VR and mobile. One VR player controls a tree that protects the golden acorns by grabbing and throwing objects such as wood chunks, boulders, and sticky sap. One to eight other players use iOS or Android devices to play as squirrels, using distinct abilities and tools to steal acorns and carry them back to their base. The game combines competitive and cooperative play, with players gathered together as a couch party.
It has eight levels set in natural environments. Squirrels have different roles: one is built for speed, another carries a shield, one digs tunnels, and another builds ramps. The mobile game required for the squirrel players is free.
