Our take on A Stroke of Fate: Operation Valkyrie
The store page gives prominence to historical atmosphere, graphics, locations, and characters, but provides little detail about the investigation’s structure or the spy mini-games. The central gameplay loop is therefore less clear than the setting and presentation.
What is A Stroke of Fate: Operation Valkyrie?
This detective adventure follows the German Resistance’s effort to bring down the Nazi government.
Gerhard Mayer, a Standartenfuhrer at the Reich Security Head Office, discovers that the Gestapo has located the conspirators. Assigned to investigate them, he attempts to misdirect the Gestapo while aiding the Resistance in ending the conflict. Set in historical surroundings, the game features detailed locations, dozens of characters, and spy-themed mini-games. Its graphics are photorealistic and high-definition, and players can choose a black-and-white film presentation for a different historical atmosphere.
