Imperial Endeavor mode sets a goal of surviving 25 rounds, with substantial random elements creating different runs and completed runs unlocking additional emperors. Scenario mode offers historical, challenge, and fantasy approaches: players can experience dynastic rises and falls, take the roles of various historical figures, or pursue unconstrained campaigns.
Completing historical scenarios unlocks more ministers. An endless mode carries over the Imperial Endeavor configuration and focuses on raising the rule score and testing the limits of possible lineups. Related figures can also activate combination effects.
